About the Piece

Mr. FixIt Pinky B started out as nothing more than a warm-up drawing.

Sometimes before getting into the real work for the day, I’ll sketch something just to loosen up. No pressure. No expectations. Just pencil on paper.

But this one had other ideas.

The character started to take on a life of its own as I worked on it. There are only a handful of characters in comics that I genuinely enjoy drawing over and over again, and this guy is one of them.

He’s huge. Completely over the top. Built like a walking mountain.

And instead of the usual smashed-up look or ripped clothes, I love putting him in regular everyday clothing. Something about that contrast makes the character feel bigger and gives him a personality beyond just being some giant green guy smashing things.

What began as a simple warm-up sketch slowly turned into a full piece.

Sometimes the drawings that start out the smallest end up becoming the most fun to create.
